Well, Catamount was a lot of fun. All the participating shops were there along with the Trek Pro Team who were on their way to Bromont, Quebec for Worlds. I was one of the first shops to arrive, so I got a good spot next to the Trek/Fisher Demo truck. I was also the only shop that brought any tools, and also the only one that brought a pump.

There was a silent auction for the Bellaship, which is a sub-club within the Fellowship of the Wheel, geared towards getting the next generation of female riders out on the trail. We had donated some goodies, which last I checked, were fetching a decent bid. There was food and music, and a great turn out.

I was remarking to a couple of other folks about how it felt like “the good old days”, back when mountain biking was fun, and events like this had more of a festival sort of feel. Maybe we are at a turning point? Maybe bike riding has become fun again, and less adversarial than it has been lately. 

I sure hope so.
