29er Suspension Decisions
We get a lot of phone calls from folks trying to figure out what full suspension
29er frame is best for them, so we thought we'd try to put together a little
cheat sheet that summarizes the where and when that is best for our top full
suspension frames.
- RIP9
- With 4.5" of travel, Niner's RIP9 offers what we consider to be the
best all-around full-suspension 29er. From long, all day cross country rides
to stunts, drops and descents - the RIP9 brings it's A game. Our top choice
for full-suspension 29er frames.
- WFO
- Niner's big travel frame, the 5.5" WFO should be the bike of choice
for anyone that considers stunts and downhills the best part of biking. Like
all the Niner frames, the WFO can climb as well as it can descend so even
though you've got the plush travel, you won't be left behind on the way up
the hill.
- JET9
- A favorite of fast guys (and gals), the Niner JET9 has been reworked for
added strength and resiliance and is due back in stock in Febuary 2010.
- Voodoo Canzo
- If money is an object, this 4" travel frame from Voodoo may be what
you're looking for. It's a solid performer with consistent climbing and descending
skills.
- Salsa
Big Mama - A great price on this 4" travel frame, the Big Mama will
give you a lightweight and stiff full-suspension 29er frame, at a comfortable
price point.
- Gary Fisher Superfly 100 - fast
and light, this carbon bike comes complete and is perfect for the cross-country
enthusiast and racer who wants a serious machine. While you don't get to spec
every component, Fisher has done a great job putting this bike together and
you really get your money's worth. Available in store only, Fisher is producing
limited quantities of this bike, so if you want one let us know as soon as
possible.
- Gary Fisher Hi-Fi - With multiple
levels available, the Hi-Fi will give you exactly what you're willing to pay
for - from entry level to high-end. The Hi-Fi has 110mm of travel and makes
an excellent cross country trail bike.
- Gary Fisher Rumblefish - Intended
as an all-mountain 29er, the Rumblefish is new from Gary Fisher for 2010.
While the frame shares a lot in common with the Hi-Fi, Fisher has spec'd out
this bike with components for slacker handling and cushier landings.
